Frequently Asked Questions

  • What should I expect during my cryotherapy treatment?

We'll provide you with warm mittens and socks before you enter the chamber. The session will be three minutes long, and your entire body (with the exception of your head) will be enveloped by pulsating air that has been hyper-cooled to -220°F.

  • How often should I come to Valley Cryo for cryotherapy?

We recommend 3-4 visits per week for people who are in heavy training or rehab. For other customers, two visits per week can achieve and maintain optimal results.

  • What should I wear for my cryotherapy session?

Underwear, bras, and swimsuits may be worn in addition to the mittens and socks we provide.

You must remove all metal jewelry, including watches and rings.

We strive to keep our environment pure, so please refrain from applying synthetic perfume or colognes before visiting us.

  • Is cryotherapy not recommended for certain people?

You should always receive clearance for whole-body cryotherapy from your medical provider if you are uncertain about how it might interact with any condition you have.

Cryotherapy is not recommended for women who are pregnant or people who suffer from the following conditions:

    Recent acute MI

    Unstable angina pectoris

    Cardiac pacemaker

    Acute CVA

    Raynaud’s syndrome

    Uncontrolled hypertension

    Uncontrolled epilepsy

    Bleeding disorders

    Severe anemia

  • Why not take an ice bath instead?

Whole-body cryotherapy is a completely dry process that constricts your peripheral blood vessels and pulsates blood to your core (between your heart and lungs).

Ice baths draw blood away from your core and leave you with sore muscles and less oxygenated blood, which is the opposite of cryotherapy.
